Step It Up(스텝잇업)
The Yi Sun-sin Festival is a cultural event that commemorates the achievements of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, a renowned military leader of the Joseon Dynasty, and reinterprets his patriotism and leadership in a modern context. Held annually in various regions, it is particularly grand in areas that were the birthplace or major activity sites of Admiral Yi Sun-sin. The festival features a diverse range of programs, including parades based on historical research, reenactments, exhibitions, and lectures. Through these, participants can learn about Admiral Yi Sun-sin's great spirit and experience Korean history and culture. In Seoul's Jung-gu district, events like the '2025 Yi Sun-sin Festival' are held around the Myeongbo Art Hall intersection annually in late October, proclaiming the city brand 'Yi Sun-sin 1545 Jung-gu' and offering various performances, experiences, food, and markets. The festival is often preceded by 'Yi Sun-sin Week,' a series of pre-events including walking tours, archery experiences, and original musical performances.
