Bossam

Bossam is a traditional Korean set meal consisting of boiled pork slices (suyuk) wrapped in various vegetables. The pork is boiled to remove excess fat, resulting in a clean and savory taste. It is typically enjoyed with lettuce, perilla leaves, and kimchi. This dish is especially popular during the Kimjang season (kimchi making season) and pairs excellently with Makgeolli (Korean rice wine). The cooking process takes about 30 minutes for the pork and approximately 1 hour including preparation. For foreigners, it is a great dish to try during special holidays, and it is highly recommended to eat it with ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste). One serving contains about 350 calories with 4.7g of carbohydrates.
