Jinhae Gunhangje Festival (진해군항제)
The Jinhae Gunhangje Festival is Korea's premier cherry blossom festival, held annually in spring in Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. With a history spanning over 60 years since its first event in 1963, it offers a variety of cultural events and experiences alongside the beautiful cherry blossoms of the naval port city of Jinhae. The festival's highlight is the spectacular sight of 360,000 cherry trees, with the cherry blossom tunnels at Yeojwacheon Romance Bridge and Gyeonghwa Station being particularly popular among tourists from all over the country. During the festival, visitors can enjoy diverse attractions such as the Naval Band and Honor Guard Festival, parades, and art performances, as well as opportunities to glimpse Jinhae's history and culture. Visiting during the cherry blossom season allows for the creation of unforgettable memories under the fully bloomed blossoms. The festival typically runs for about 10 days from late March to early April.
