Nexon

Nexon, founded on December 26, 1994, in Seoul, South Korea, is a leading South Korean-Japanese video game developer and publisher. Its founder, Kim Jung-ju, recognized the potential of online gaming early on, launching the world's first graphical MMORPG, 'The Kingdom of the Winds' (Nexus: The Kingdom of the Winds), in 1996. This pioneering spirit paved the way for numerous successful titles across various genres, including the globally popular 'MapleStory,' 'Crazyracing Kartrider,' and 'Dungeon & Fighter.' Although Nexon relocated its headquarters to Tokyo, Japan, in 2005, its largest shareholder, NXC Corporation, remains based in South Korea, underscoring the company's deep roots in the Korean game industry. Nexon has expanded its reach beyond PC online games to encompass mobile and console platforms, solidifying its position as a major player in the global gaming market. The company continues to innovate with initiatives like 'MapleStory Worlds,' a platform for user-generated content, and the development of new intellectual properties such as 'Dave the Diver.' Through continuous innovation and a diverse portfolio across multiple platforms, Nexon is evolving into a global entertainment powerhouse.
