October 2026 Update — what changed
- The 30-day Climate Card ended in September 2026. Prepaid 30-day passes could be used until Sept 29 at the latest, and postpaid benefits ended Sept 30. Since Oct 1, only short-term passes remain. Travelers can buy 1-, 2-, 3-, 5- and 7-day passes.
- Short-term passes cost ₩5,000 (1 day) to ₩20,000 (7 days). The physical card costs ₩3,000. Foreign-issued cards work at the new ticket vending machines in Line 1-8 stations, with a service fee of about 3.7% on average (introduced March 2026).
- Coverage is Seoul plus getting off at Incheon Airport. The Shinbundang Line and GTX are excluded, and so are Gyeonggi areas such as Gimpo City and Goyang (Gimpo Airport station is in Seoul and is still covered). Only Seoul-licensed buses count. See the AREX warning below before you fly in.
⚠️ Airport Railroad (AREX) — read before you land
You can board and get off at 6 Seoul stations: Seoul Station, Gongdeok, Hongik Univ., Digital Media City, Magoknaru and Gimpo Airport. At Incheon Airport Terminal 1 and 2 stations you can only get off, not board (since Sept 13, 2024).

At the new ticket vending machines in Line 1-8 stations you can buy and top up a short-term pass with a foreign-issued card. Foreign cards were introduced in March 2026, with a service fee of about 3.7% on average. Choose a 1-, 2-, 3-, 5- or 7-day pass. At Line 9, Ui-Sinseol and Sillim stations, buy a physical card at a convenience store near the station.

Charge on the day you start
The charging day is the start day, and pre-charging is not possible. Validity runs from the first train at 04:00 on the start day until the last train on the end date (normally until 04:00 the next day).

Physical card
The physical card costs ₩3,000. Register it on the T-money Card & Pay website (one card per person); an unregistered card cannot be refunded.

Ride inside the range
Stay within the covered area. If you get off outside the range, the fare from your boarding station to your exit station will be charged at the exit station. Keep the AREX rule above in mind when you arrive at or leave the airport.

What Happened to the 30-Day Pass
Ended: The 30-day prepaid and postpaid Climate Card ended in September 2026. Prepaid passes could be charged until Aug 31 and used until Sept 29 at the latest. Postpaid benefits ran until Sept 30, and from Oct 1 the card works as a regular transit card. Since Oct 1, only short-term passes continue.
